Welcome to (N) Damrong's Siamese Cats! I hope you will have nice time while I am proudly presenting my cats to you on this site.

About Myself

My name is Brit Jensen, and I live in Tvedestrand, located in the south of Norway. I'm married to Arild, and together we own 4 Siamese cats, 1 male and 3 females there 2 are neutered.

My Cattery:

I have been breeding Siamese Cats since 1993 when I got my first lilac pointed Siamese male. Back in 1994, he was supplemented by a lilac tabby pointed Siamese. Ever since I've been devoted to this wonderful breed. It's been said that the word: "Siamese" means "free". Which is a good description of the Siamese cat. The race originated in old "Siam", "Sayam" or Thailand which is the country's present name.

A Historical veiw on Prince Damrong:

The name "Damrong" is inspired by one of the greatest leaders of Siam (now Thailand).
Prince Damrong, whose father was responsible for numerous reforms in the Thai society, like abolition of slavery and salaries for public officials, ordered his son, Prince Damrong to go to Europe to study European forms of government. While he was functioning as Minister of Interior, he overhauled all of Siam's antiquated administration. As such, the Ministry of Interior became crucial in the unification of the nation. Prince Damrong funded 3 schools and encouraged civil servants to go to Europe for further education. Prince Damrong can
be said to have reformed the Thai society from the bottom and up, and is considered as one of Thailands greatest leaders.
